Safety Partners

Safety First, L.L.C.
Safety First, LLC is glad to have become one of the latest partner members of Independent Electrical Contractors, Inc. We are a Maryland based business serving the Baltimore/Washington Metro areas with over 25 years of experience to serve your construction safety needs. We provide on site or shop/truck safety inspections, which includes a full walk thru of your project or shop to help identify potential safety hazards.

For the construction site oriented contractors, we will walk the project with your representative looking at the equipment, employees and other areas of the job to help identify potential safety hazards. The OSHA required paperwork will be reviewed along with necessary training documentation such as, but not limited to: Toolbox talks, safety program, new employee orientation, Hazard Communication etc.

For service oriented contractors quarterly shop/truck inspections will be conducted. The inspection will be very similar to a job site inspection but will be limited to the company vehicles and the shop area. We will inspect the equipment, shop conditions and OSHA required paperwork.

A hand written report will be left with your foreman at the time of the inspection, and will be followed by a formal report, which will include photographs. The photographs are taken for your benefit to help the administrative staff better understand the potential hazards. These photographs will correspond with the formal report. Please note that our inspections are based on the Code of Federal Regulations and COMAR.

Additional services are available to those contractors who desire a more complete safety service.

Safety First LLC is looking forward to working with the IEC Chesapeake members and staff. Our goal for our contractors is to reduce accidents and injuries, provide exceptional training for your personnel and be of assistance to the administrative staff for any safety related issues.

Should you desire more information please contact myself or the IEC Chesapeake staff.

Safety Services Company is pleased to partner with IEC-Chesapeake.  As most of you know, OSHA requires that contractors have a compliant safety program and that contractors must train their employees "in the recogonition and avoidance of usafe conditions and the regulations applicable to his work environment to control or eliminate any hazards or other exposure to llness or injury" CFR Title 29 Part 1926 Section 21 Subsection B.   The most common and cost effective way that contractors have chose to handle the required training and documentation is by implementing jobsite "toolbox or tailgate" safety meetings.  These safety meetings are designed to last approximatley 5-10 minutes and discuss common hazards found on the job.

Safety Services Company currently has over 9,000 clients across the country and has written over 250 Tailgate/Toolbox Safety Meetings that are designed with the Electrical Contractor in mind.  Safety Services Company and the IEC-Chesapeake have designed the program so that members may pick-and-choose the safety meetings that work best for their projects then Safety Services Company will mail the prewritten safety meetings to the member each month (English & Spanish meetings are available).

We are confident that the partnership between IEC-Chesapeake and Safety Services Company will benefit members and assist in the constant challenge of OSHA compliance!
